High-resolution coastline data becomes available for maps generated with Generic Mapping Tools. It is useful for cartography, geoscience, education and research figures that need detailed shorelines.
This is geospatial data, not a standalone map application. Large coastline datasets can increase storage use and rendering time depending on map scale.
