Description
ALSA sound controls can be adjusted through a GNOME-oriented graphical mixer. It is useful for changing input, output and channel levels when desktop sound settings do not expose the needed hardware controls.
Changing mixer levels can mute sound, increase volume suddenly or affect recording inputs. Check levels carefully before using speakers, headphones or microphones.
