A template and support library for creating Jupyter and IPython kernels. Developers use it when building custom kernels for languages, teaching tools or specialized computational environments.
It is kernel-development infrastructure, not a notebook interface by itself. Install it when a project uses Metakernel or when creating a new Jupyter kernel.
