Classic roguelike dungeon crawling gains extra randomness, levels, and challenge on top of NetHack. This is useful for experienced NetHack players who want a less predictable run.
The game is usually played from the keyboard and can be difficult by design. Fantasy combat and permadeath make it better suited to teens and adults than very young children.
