UPS patch files can be created and applied from a command-line fork of upset. upset_cli is useful for ROM hacking, binary patch workflows, and users distributing differences instead of complete files.
Use patches only with files you are allowed to modify. Binary patching can corrupt originals, apply to the wrong version, distribute copyrighted differences, or hide malicious changes in patched outputs.
