Plays MIDI files through a software synthesizer and provides a core library that other programs can use for MIDI playback. It is useful for listening to MIDI music, game music files, or applications that need lightweight MIDI synthesis.
This is both a simple command-line player and a library. Sound quality depends on configuration and available instrument patches, so MIDI files may not sound identical across systems.
